Arthur Muhammad, a dedicated filmmaker hailing from Dallas, Texas, has traversed a unique journey through the world of cinema. His passion for film was ignited alongside independent colleagues who, unfortunately, faced daunting financial challenges that prevented their projects from reaching completion. Determined never to encounter a similar fate, Muhammad embarked on a quest to learn every facet of filmmaking, from the intricacies of writing and shooting to the art of editing, directing, and producing.
Arthur earned his BA degree in Film and Media from Southern Methodist University and further honed his craft, obtaining an MFAAAA degree from Vermont College of Fine Arts. With 17 feature films under his belt, he has not only directed and edited but also written and directed four of these films. Mr. Muhammad's talents have garnered recognition, with a notable accolade for his screenplay, "Carter High," at the prestigious Cinema City International Film Festival's Screenwriter Awards in Los Angeles. Cartergh nds as a long-anticipated portrayal of the remarkable true story of the 1988 Carter High Cowboys, a high school football team that struck fear into the hearts of their Texan rivals. This inspiring narrative laid the foundation for the blockbuster football film "Friday Night Lights" and the subsequent TV series adaptation. Arthur's films have resonated with audiences worldwide, thanks to their availability on platforms such as Netflix, BET, and theatrical screenings. Titles like "Carter High," "First Impression," and "Bid for Love" have delighted viewers from diverse corners of the globe. Arthur was accepted into the DGA's Episodic TV Directing Mentorship program and is excited to expand his directorial career into episodic television. |
