Filmmaker Bio:
Racquelle VernerCurmiah Lisette is a multidisciplinary St Lucian artist-educator and director of Tropical Theatre—an agency that amplifies nature, delivering arts education and Caribbean heritage through creative collaboration. Her work spans performances, poetic visuals, and workshops, celebrating St Lucian identity and Caribbean diasporic experiences. Curmiah's published works, such as Green and Wild in UWI's Journal of West Indian Literature and the internationally screened Fanm Diviné (Women of Divinity), bring Caribbean voices and natural landscapes to life.
With over 14 years in arts and education, Curmiah has contributed to Sadler's Wells' Academy Breakin' Convention and delivered performances for Amazon and the London Metropolitan Police. Other notable appearances include the V&A Museum, the British Library, World Travel Expo Dubai, and St. Lucia's Roots & Soul Festival, with her poetry supporting campaigns for UNICEF and UN Women. A recipient of St Lucia's National Youth Awards in Performing and Literary Arts, she holds an MA in Creative Writing & Education and was nominated for the British National Education Union's Blair Peach Award for advancing diversity in education. |

Keithlin Caroo-AfrifaKeithlin Caroo-Afrifa, a dynamic Saint Lucian advocate, is dedicated to addressing gender inequality and fostering rural development throughout the Caribbean. She is the driving force behind Helen's Daughters Inc., a non-profit organization making significant strides in Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Founded in 2016, Helen's Daughters embodies her fervent commitment and provides advocacy, capacity development, and enhanced market access to countless rural women across multiple islands.
With roots in agriculture stemming from her upbringing in a farming household, Mrs. Caroo-Afrifa pairs her passion with a background in International Relations. Her five-year tenure at the United Nations, where she focused on Peacekeeping and Economic, Social, and Political Affairs, deepened her understanding of agriculture's pivotal role in societal stability. Recognized internationally for her ongoing efforts to empower Caribbean rural women, Ms. Caroo-Afrifa serves as a One Young World Ambassador, recipient of the 2018 National Youth Award in Agriculture in Saint Lucia, Thought for Food Ambassador for the Caribbean, Forbes Island Innovator, and fellow of Ashoka and Echoing Green. Furthermore, she has been honored with an MBE for humanitarian services by HM Queen Elizabeth II and appointed as an IICA Goodwill Ambassador for Sustainable Development. |
