D. Pasquel
Born and raised in the Natural State, D. Pasquel grew up learning to appreciate the simple things, and the power of a well-told story. Arkansas bred an emerging cinematic voice whose work is grounded in authenticity, resilience, and community.
A first-generation college graduate, Pasquel earned a B.A. in Media Production from Howard University, an M.F.A. in Film and Media Arts and an M.A. in Audio Technology from American University, and is completing an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University. His academic journey reflects both his creative versatility and his commitment to expanding what’s possible for storytellers who come from places where opportunities are often limited.
As a filmmaker, Pasquel’s mission is to illuminate the lives of those who are too often unheard or unseen. Through film, education, and mentorship, he strives to cultivate a community of artists and scholars empowered to tell their own stories, confront generational trauma, and imagine new futures.
