FILM SYNOPSIS
In the small town of Sandusky, Ohio, Coach John B. Farris Jr. was more than an athlete or educator, he was a legend. A star player who became a beloved mentor, Farris shaped generations of young people with discipline, integrity, and heart. But in 1995, a single accusation by a white student fractured his reputation and ignited tensions rooted in race, power, and perception.
Farris #22 unravels the story of a man whose legacy was tested by a community divided. Through intimate interviews with family, former students, friends, legal voices, and city leaders, the film explores how quickly truth can be overshadowed, and how deeply injustice can linger. Blending archival footage, poetic reenactments, and symbolic storytelling inspired by the parable of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” the documentary examines who gets labeled the villain, and who gets remembered as the hero.
