Habtamu Gebrehiwot

Habtamu Gebrehiwot is an Ethiopian filmmaker with MFA in film from Addis Ababa University. His first short film Rendezvous screened at the 2022 European Film Festival in Addis. In 2023, he successfully attend the DW Akademie film development program. In 2024 he wrote and directed his second short film The fortunate, with support from the EAaccelerate Fund. currently developing feature length film with same title The Fortunate which was selected for Locarno open doors projects in 2025.
