Jean-Michel LOUTOBY
Jean-Michel Loutoby, born in Robert (Martinique), is a committed filmmaker whose work follows in the footsteps of directors who use cinema to question society. With a background in management and visual arts, he trained in screenwriting, directing, and audiovisual production. In 2019, his short film From Shadow to Light received the Special Jury Prize at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York. In 2023, he initiated the feature film project The Invisible Mules, based on his own original idea, as Director of the Mission Locale Nord Martinique. In 2024, he directed Invisible Fractures, a powerful drama exploring the conflict between personal aspirations and family expectations, while also training and involving over forty young people in acting. Through his films, Jean-Michel explores themes of identity, transmission, and resilience, always with a gaze deeply rooted in social reality.
