John Mills
John Mills is a trained genealogist, independent scholar, and president of the Alex Breanne Corporation, a Connecticut-based nonprofit dedicated to uncovering lesser-known stories of the American enslaved. His work focuses on reconnecting present-day descendants with their history and restoring the presence of the formerly enslaved within the communities where they lived, worked, and died.
A published author and public advocate, Mills has appeared on The Areva Martin Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show, and has been featured in The Washington Post and Scholastic Magazine. He is also a member of the Connecticut Freedom Trail Committee.
