NAACP - Sa ChapterWorkshop Title:
Know Your Rights & Make Your Voice Heard This workshop intends to jump off the movie screen with a focus into real life drama. Today’s political climate is marked by divisive laws and policies designed to strip Black and Brown communities of hard-fought rights—rights our ancestors struggled to secure so future generations could live with dignity, opportunity, and justice. Now more than ever, knowing your rights and becoming civically engaged are critical steps toward advancing equity and justice for all. The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to create a society in which all individuals enjoy equal rights, free from racial hatred and discrimination. Its mission is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights for all people and to eliminate racial injustice in every form. In alignment with this mission, San Antonio’s Social Justice and Political Action Chairs have come together to host a powerful student workshop focused on civic engagement, empowerment, and advocacy. This session will equip students with practical tools to understand their rights, navigate today’s complex political landscape, and take meaningful action in their communities. In a time when marginalized groups are being disproportionately impacted, this workshop is about more than awareness—it’s about action. Believing in yourself, knowing your rights, and using your voice—especially at the ballot box—are powerful ways to shape a just and equitable future. |
