Resem Verkron (1999) is part of the two most exciting cultural movements in Luanda: the street art Verkron Collective (from which he takes his surname) and Gerao 80, the leading art-house cinema production company. He defines his work as "emotional Afrofuturism": his personal response to Black American Afrofuturism. After working on different shorts, mostly as DoP, this is his second short as director. The previous one, "Lola & Mami" (2021), deals with toxic masculinity.
Marc Serena (1983) codirected the award-winning feature doc "Tchindas" (2015), which won 13 prizes in festivals such as Outfest Los Angeles (US), was nominated at the African Oscars in Nigeria (AMAA Awards) and was broadcast on PBS (US). More recently, his film "The Writer From a Country Without Bookstores" won a prize in Italy at the DIG Awards for best investigative journalism. He has published three books and currently works as a freelancer for several television stations.
