MAY 1 - 3 - The 11th Annual SA Pan-African Festival
is proud to welcome renowned Egyptologist, historian, and author Anthony T. Browder back to San Antonio. He returns to share more empowering history and to launch his newest book, A Browder Perspective: My 59-Year Journey to Enlightenment (From the Browder File, Vol. III). This #HISTORYupRising is an experience you can’t afford to miss. (5/1) FRIDAY - History Presentation celebrating the teachings of Dr. John Henrik Clarke -- "The Power of Memory: A Tribute to John Henrik Clarke" (5/2) SATURDAY - Book Signing at Pan African Fest marketplace @ Second Baptist Cultural Center gymnasium. (5/3) SUNDAY - Film Screening - "John Henrik Clarke: A Long and Mighty Walk" -- Documentarian director St. Claire Bourne takes a close-up look at author and historian John Henrik Clarke, who, on camera for much of the film, bounces back and forth between a description of his own personal history, and his views on the history of Africa and of Pan-Africanism. Actor Wesley Snipes executive produced the film and serves as a narrator.
