Vincent Victoria
Vincent Victoria, dubbed the Playwright laureate of Houston, has been writing and directing plays and films about important moments and personages from the African Diaspora since 2017.His plays have included “The Last Night of Josephine Baker”, “The Disappearance of Eartha Kitt” and” Mr. Booker T. at the Door.” Four of his plays have been chosen to be read at the prestigious International Black Theatre Festival in Winston Salem NC.
His proudest accomplishment as a filmmaker is the film “The Dichotomy of Hattie Mc Daniel” which is the first narrative film ever about actress Hattie Mc Daniel. The film won Best Drama, and Best Director at the San Diego Black Film Festival in 2025 and Best Feature Film at The Charlotte Black Film Festival.
His next project is the film “Eight Notes to Heaven” which dramatizes the rivalry between singers Prince and Rick James.
