The panel featuring UTSA College of Education and Human Development's Department of COEHD and African American Studies has convened a panel of UTSA Professors/Lecturers will discuss and analyze the historical interpretation of African American history in cinema, the danger of writer's creative license over true facts, and the distortion of images recreated in numerous biopics for television and cinema. Educating ourselves on history is the best defense to learning facts over fiction.

This talented packed forum engages in the real-reel talk about Black actors on the film scene. Discussion centers on casting disparities, audition preparation, resources, and opportunities for acting professionals and aspiring entertainers. Panel drives participants to explore other artistic options and ignites thinking outside-the-box. The panelist also encourages participants to think about acting abroad, and gives advice on seeking potential gigs in the international film market.
