Description: Apple core is about Papa, a lonely, grumpy widower who has given up on his desire as an artist to paint since his wife's death. He looks after his granddaughter from time to time while her mother works. She comes over this time on his marriage anniversary and while he watches her paint it rekindles the thought of him painting once again. In order to do this he must first overcome a tremendous guilt that is haunting him.
Filmmaker Bio:
Patrick James Thomas is an Atlanta film director, producer and writer from Lansing, Michigan. Patrick earned his Bachelor’s degree in Radio, Television and Film and Master’s degree in Fine Arts in Film at Howard University. Patrick won a prestigious Paul Robeson award in 2009 for his work as a producer. As an artist, Patrick is interested in sharing stories that are personal, inspiring and shaped by exploring culture, history and faith. His last short film Cut My Hair Barber was accepted into many festivals and was licensed by Magic Johnson's Aspire TV. He is currently in development on a film based on the life of Mississippian and educator Dr. Walter Washington, who was also the first black person to receive a doctorate degree in the state of Mississippi. The other film project he has in development is a story based on another Walter. Walter Harris who was bank robber going down the wrong path until he found boxing. This turned his life around and he found his way onto the Olympic trials team. His life was tragically cut short in a plane crash on his way to the Olympics. Those stories are both based on real human beings. Lastly, I'm not an actor, I'm a filmmaker. I chose the attached headshot because my son is a part of my why. [email protected] |
