Filmmaker Bio:
Connor Austin Jones Connor Austin is a writer-director, producer, actor, engineer and former collegiate gymnast born in San Ramon, CA, and raised in the DMV. Following selections for development with the Gotham Institute’s Narrative Series Fellowship and Geffen School of Drama at Yale’s Professional Directing Lab, Connor produced his debut short, ‘On The Line.’ This coming-of-age track drama has been selected for numerous festivals -- i.e. Mammoth Film Festival, Berlin Lift-Off Festival, etc. -- and garnered a nomination for Best Cinematography at the Cannes Shorts Fest. His screenwriting work has received recognition at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards (OTL), selection at the 2023 Beverly Hills Film Festival (2077), and recently won Best Sci-Fi Script at the Hollywood Just4Shorts Festival (2077). His long-term vision is to direct -- across film, TV, and stage -- the stories that need to be told with the time we have left; in between the technology and the math and the logistics is the recreation of life. Connor Austin aims to center his projects around this universal aspect of the work so we can better empathize with one another. |
