Description: StorytellHER: My Child tells the story of a mother wrapped in the grieving memory of her daughter who was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a man 3 years ago. Even though some time has passed, the pain is still fresh to this mother who lost her only child. Drowning in depression, guilt, alcoholism and anger she confronts her daughter's killer in an unconventional way.
The title is a play on the word storyteller (StoryTellHER) as this two part film highlights women telling their truths and living in the rawness of their emotions, as hard as that story can be to tell sometimes. Often times when children go missing, the stories of the family they leave behind go unheard. This film gives a voice to those families. The film starts and ends by reminding the audience that even though we are all different we are still all connected by our stories and shared experiences, and as women our stories are very powerful and worth telling, while also encouraging other women to be a part of this storytelling movement.
